Drawers

The desk is not done yet!:)
My hubby developed a habit joking around if I have made my desk yet. Last few days I’ve been working on the drawers. First I’ve made strips then cut mortises for the bottom of the drawer. It would be easier if the drawers had the same height, but the lower half drawers have different one.
Another issue was with the brass hardware, initially I was thinking of turning them from wood, but then I thought it wouldn’t be as fancy as brass ones. Besides I’ve got too many drawers. I had to count all the drawers knobs and handles I have. It turned out that only kind I had got enough was Chippendale. I browsed through several antique web sites and found several Dickens’s desks with such handles, so I thought it would be okay to use them. The only problem I found was the quality of these handles – I had two types from different vendors. The first one had terrible roughly made handles, the other – out of scale fixtures. So, I had to combine them and use a 0,3mm brass wire for the fixtures.
