William and Mary dressing table – part 1.

Or read this in Russian

I’ve been working on it since the beginning of the year, then I switched to making a workbench, and now I’m off the project for a week because of my daughter’s illness.
It was my first try using a lathe duplicator, and I’m quite pleased with the results.
But let’s start from the beginning. I start with cutting the legs, the turned part is bigger in diameter than the upper part. So I remove the waste with my router.

As you can see on the right, there is a small stopper I made, so all the legs would be identical.
Now I’m making mortises, I used two stoppers here for the same reasons. The only thing is that I had to use CNC bits here – the mortise is less than 1 mm.

Now it’s time to turn the legs.

I’m making the piece out of walnut. I’m pretty happy with how it looks in miniature, but making blind dovetails by hand on 1,5mm thick drawers is a nightmare. I gave up. Dremel bits work ok though, but I wish I could make dovetails the way I wanted.

So here are the legs.

The rest was much easier and faster to make.

Now I’m making the inner parts of the table.
