English Roubo workbench, part 3, final.
It’s assembling time! I showed a dry fit before, so there won’t be any annoying repeating photos. Let me show vises, for example. Before gluing anything I need to install tail vises and front.I start with tail vises.
At first, I drill a hole, insert the vises, check if everything is symmetrical. That dark detail (made of steamed pear wood) was made twice, because the drill hole was not set correctly. Too bad.
Well, then we have this detail inside the bench top, that’s moving back and forth, so inside this detail I install a nut. Then we make a mortise for it. Let’s hope nothing will crack.
Tuscan Table.
I wish I had two more days, just 16 hours of work, probably I’d be completely happy then. But, I have only three hours a day, and my kid is sick, so I finished it a bit earlier. Lots of photos below.
Art Deco Tables
Well, it’s been a while since my last update on these tables. They’re done now!
The first one is with straw marquetry top, the table itself is made of walnut.
Majorelle armoire cabinet! Done, done, done!
I’m super happy that it’s finally finished, because I’m a bit tired of all these butterflies and leaves and curves, and want to move to something simple again. It was quite a job, but I managed to make it quite good. Overall, it was fun! I still need to make the inner frame for the central door to cover the “glass”, but it won’t take long.
Wardrobe – moldings and frame
There was a lot of work recently, I’m still enjoying the process of building my new art nouveau wardrobe. Lots of things were changed since the last version of it, this time I decided not to use veneered wood, this time the pear was stained, it has a very deep color of purple heart wood. Just like the original piece. The only drawback is that becayse it’s very dark every touch with my fingers left these sawdust spots. Anyway, there’s nothing I can do till the finishing process.

Well, it’s done! I wish I could make more, but the thing is I’m out of time and need to make other items too. I finished this day bed long-long time ago but the textile part took a lot of time, because I was sewing it while my daughter was sleeping 🙂 Then I ordered a cat and a dog…

Marquetry wardrobe -WIP
These holidays were too long! I missed my tools and tablesaw:) Before them (damn, it was last year!) I started remaking marquetry wardrobe, which I didn’t even finish. I managed to cut side parts, today was a lathe day!

Music stand
Well, it’s finished! Pretty happy with it – though I had my troubles with hinges, which was a surprise for me.

I only needed one more hour today to finish the second panel for the door, almost half of it is done. So I’ll show only the first one for now. Well, I need to sand it, add couple more details, but overall it’s done.
