The first floor is finished.
Yay! Next on my list – the balcony and the roof.
Parquetry in Miniature
We became huge fans of miniature parquetry!:) Several patterns are made, some amazing pictures downloaded.
Starting from the easiest one:
It’s 15cm x 15cm. White oak.

Finished one half of the facade. Almost. I didn’t expect it would take so much time. This was supposed to be fun!;)
Today I was watching “Woodturning for furniture”, so I’m playing with lathe again – making the blank for claw foot. Doesn’t look good for me, it’s a long road.
Arches

I wasn’t going to post this because it’s still in progress, but here it is.
Half of the weekend was spent on glueing bricks, making arches, it takes so much time, I didn’t expect it!:) Somehow, I decorate the house instaggered order. I don’t know why.:)

Window frames
It was a day of window frames. Glueing, sandpapering, but still I’ve managed to finish only half. The rest is awaiting!:)
To make it more fun I browse through Ads and signs that were made before revolution. Can’t choose the most beautiful, they all are.
Dollhouse again
After sending the present to my Mum – I can get back to my house. The first project gave me so much experience, I think I would have changed a lot when I was constructing the house, but.. it’s already done and I’ll fix it all, no doubt. (duh, I hope)
It should be very Russian, very traditional:)
First Dollhouse
I’m making it from scratch, because I want to make it in traditional russian style. I love Russian architecture, village houses, well it’s better show it:
I have a huge collection of such wonderful houses. So I decided to build a tradesman’s house. His little shop on the first floor, and couple of rooms on the second. It should be 17th century or 18th. Haven’t decided yet:) It’s easy to move from century to another – traditions in building wooden houses have remained nearly the same.
