Books on marquetry, my new workshop
There are two new videos on my Youtube channel. One is about my new workshop, the video was published a week ago, but I forgot to share the link here 🙂
The second video is about the books on marquetry that I have in my collection. Lots of books in English, Roubo books, for example. And several really good books in Russian, mostly exhibition catalogues.
DH magazine publication
I’m very excited and honored to be featured in Dollhouse Miniatures Magazine! Actually it’s my Studley workbench that’s been featured but I’m happy anyway:)

Dollhouse bricks. Almost real!
There are some things that truly inspire. They can make you create a whole room just for them. And recently I found one in Russian social site. In one of the groups I saw a post about miniature bricks with lots of photos, and I was blown away. It’s hard to find an artisan in Russia who creates such complicated things (I’m speaking about technology and process involved) from scratch.
I loved the bricks and instantly wanted to buy them though I had no idea how I could use them, besides I’m making furniture mostly, not roomboxes (sigh). Minutes later I decided to make some sort of decoration for one of my items for Christmas Kensington Festival. I ordered 2kg of bricks.
Dmitry, an artisan who makes these bricks, was also very kind, he sent me bricks of another scale too (1/9) and half-bricks. Look how cool they are:
Lots of photos below:
Gaspar Homart masterpieces.
I’m reorganizing my boards on Pinterest – mostly the ones with art nouveau style furniture and such. So I have decided to make special board on Gaspar Homar. I recently copied his music stand and art nouveau sofa.
Gaspar Homar was born in Spain in 1870 and died in 1953. 82 years, huh? Not bad at all. I found his biography only in Spanish ( and my Spanish sucks to be honest) but I managed to find out that not only he was a fantastic cabinetmaker but he also was into mosaics and house decoration, lighting etc.
Here is on of such houses, all the furniture is now in the museum in Catalonia:
Some news and my Etsy shop
The weather in Moscow is terrible – raining and no sun at all. Even May was perfect with its sunny days.
And now I’m back to work with another project, need to model everything in 3d before, it’s quite complicated project for me, so I have to work in several programs at the same time.
As for the rest – I added my Mom’s dolls on my site and also opened my Etsy shop though there are only few items left.
Fine Miniatures Forum.
