Gaspar Homart masterpieces.
I’m reorganizing my boards on Pinterest – mostly the ones with art nouveau style furniture and such. So I have decided to make special board on Gaspar Homar. I recently copied his music stand and art nouveau sofa.
Gaspar Homar was born in Spain in 1870 and died in 1953. 82 years, huh? Not bad at all. I found his biography only in Spanish ( and my Spanish sucks to be honest) but I managed to find out that not only he was a fantastic cabinetmaker but he also was into mosaics and house decoration, lighting etc.
Here is on of such houses, all the furniture is now in the museum in Catalonia:
Music stand
Well, it’s finished! Pretty happy with it – though I had my troubles with hinges, which was a surprise for me.
Marquetry panels – finished
Well, actually the stand itself is almost done, but I decided to show a bit of process
Marquetry for music stand
I only needed one more hour today to finish the second panel for the door, almost half of it is done. So I’ll show only the first one for now. Well, I need to sand it, add couple more details, but overall it’s done.
Music Stand
I almost finished the new item, I only need to make doors with marquetry, but this is the good part 🙂 This stand is very similar to the wardrobe I started making last year but didn’t finish. And the designer of this item is the same as with art nouveau sofa I made quite some time ago.
Sorry for spam
I updated my site today, unfortunately, I haven’t noticed that my email subscribers got old posts notifications – lots and lots of emails from me 🙁 Sorry about that, I got more than two hundred myself. It will be a good lesson for me.
Boxes full of veneer and other good things
I finished one more item, this time it’s a bed. But I need to make a textile for it, besides I’m printing my own fabric. So I’ll show it when I finish this textile part.
Anyway, moving on to the next item for now then. This time it will be a marquetry piece. Just in time – I got two boxes (huuuge) full of veneer! One is burl box, and the next one burl plus mahogany/maple etc veneer. I’m super happy!
This is the burl box:
Spinet Desk in Instagram style
I finished this desk last week, but needed to make some books for it:
Painter’s chest
Definitely not the most glamorous piece of furniture, but I love it!

Petit point
I caught a cold, so last week was out. I only managed to finish one item in Solidworks, pretty happy about it.
Among other good things – finished petit point “something”. I have no idea what I’d make with it, pillow or something for furniture, I started stitching another thing so later we’ll see and decide.
