Spinet Desk in Instagram style
I finished this desk last week, but needed to make some books for it:
Painter’s chest
Definitely not the most glamorous piece of furniture, but I love it!

Rococo revival settee
After almost three fantastic weeks on holiday I managed to get back to work and finish this rococo revival settee. I didn’t expect that upholstery would take so much time, but you’ll never know.
Rococo Settee – WIP
Well, it’s almost done. Now I need to make an uphosltery. I covered the settee with paper so that it wouldn’t distract from the carving. Uphosltering should be fun – it’s very complicated form to me, but I’ll just have to do it. Carving itself was fun, though it was tricky sometimes to get all the parts together seamlessly.

Carving, lots of it!
Wow, I thought it would be much more difficult to make it work! This settee is quite a challenge. The back is very interesting, so I had to figure out the workflow for it. Despite using 3d software I still needed to rely on my own measuring skills.
Now the fun part began – carving, lots and lots of it! I “finished” 2 parts, another 2 on the way. I hope that the next week will be all about upholstery, fingers crossed!
Victorian Settee
It’s good to be back after such a long break!
It’s another commission for me. Quite complicated piece of furniture, but I hope to get through it. I’ll be using pear wood again, not steamed but I’d say “smoked” pear, it had a beautiful chocolate brown color. Btw, not cheap at all, but I like it even more than steamed one.
I started from the lower part of the settee, main frame and cabriole legs, lots of carving there!
Dollshouse from Kensington Palace
This time I had to make a break, I have a terrible luck with nannies. I’m hoping to get one next week, but for now I’m super jealous of those lucky girls who have grannies 🙂 My kid just turned one last week and I’m not getting younger, the good thing about birthdays – I got a superb present from my husband, Proxxon planer. I had no time to test it properly, so I’ll leave it for now till the next post.
Now for some photos from London, this time – from Kensington palace and V&A museum, this one is a dollhouse which was made for Queen Victoria:
Some news and my Etsy shop
The weather in Moscow is terrible – raining and no sun at all. Even May was perfect with its sunny days.
And now I’m back to work with another project, need to model everything in 3d before, it’s quite complicated project for me, so I have to work in several programs at the same time.
As for the rest – I added my Mom’s dolls on my site and also opened my Etsy shop though there are only few items left.
Cornelis De Man Chess Players Roombox.
Well, it’s all done, I’m waiting for the last third painting – the frame for it is ready. Here is the original painting:
And what we’ve done with it 🙂
