Хвастаюсь. Новые резцы для резьбы по дереву.
Я почти-почти сделала стол! Осталось немного поработать с резьбой и покрыть лаком. Но об этом, наверное, на следующей неделе. А пока про мое новое приобретение. Вообще, оно мне досталось как заочный подарок на Новый Год, но радость от покупки испытываю уже сейчас.
Вот такой отличнейший набор микро резцов от Михаила Кирсанова теперь в моем арсенале. Кто читает форумы судомоделистов, тот поймет. А кто не знает, предлагаю зайти, например, сюда, и почитать. Хочется, чтобы о таких мастерах знали все.
New project, tuscan table with marquetry top
Almost in panic! Christmas festival is only one month away. And I only have time for one more item, this time it will be tuscan table. Lots of work here – carved legs with lots of details, turned parts, marquetry top, drawers… This table is kinda huge for me, legs are 7mm thick, quite unusual for me.
Dollhouse bricks. Almost real!
There are some things that truly inspire. They can make you create a whole room just for them. And recently I found one in Russian social site. In one of the groups I saw a post about miniature bricks with lots of photos, and I was blown away. It’s hard to find an artisan in Russia who creates such complicated things (I’m speaking about technology and process involved) from scratch.
I loved the bricks and instantly wanted to buy them though I had no idea how I could use them, besides I’m making furniture mostly, not roomboxes (sigh). Minutes later I decided to make some sort of decoration for one of my items for Christmas Kensington Festival. I ordered 2kg of bricks.
Dmitry, an artisan who makes these bricks, was also very kind, he sent me bricks of another scale too (1/9) and half-bricks. Look how cool they are:

Spice Chest
I didn’t expect it to finish so early! Less than a month, my personal record with the kid at home 🙂
The only thing I regret – I didn’t take any photos of WIP, when I was making drawers and legs. Making legs was fun! I bought a duplicator sometime ago, and I was really into trying it, because I heard rave reviews about it. But I didn’t have a chance because I was moving to the new apartment then I was busy with customizing my table saw… Then I had no time to install this damn duplicator, I have only forty to sixty minutes a day to work on minis, sooo… I did it the old way, with chisels and hands 🙂 But, it turned out quite good.

New table saw sled
Well, holidays are almost over, and I started a new project. My kid’s grandpas and grandmas are helping me a lot, as I need to prepare for Christmas festival in December. Several posts ago I was selling Proxxon table saw, I also have FET model, and I was going to buy Byrnes’ table saw after that. Well, I was too optimistic about that! At first, we moved to the new apartment, then all these sanctions and oil prices cause the horrible currency rate, and dollar price skyrocketed. Then I need some (hehe, some!) money for London trip. So Byrnes remains in my dreams only, alas.
But I still have FET, the only thing I didn’t have any jigs for it, and I need them badly!
My first must-have is table saw sled. This time I used acrylic and found a laser cut service that cut all the details I needed. I ordered actually three sets, but only one is assembled for now.
Acrylic 3mm and 10mm is used here.
Summer vacation
It’s hard to call it a vacation. We moved to a new apartment few weeks ago. And it’s stressful! Lots of boxes, bags. I was nervous to be honest. But to the good news – I have my own workspace now! It’s very small, but we used every inch of it!
I’m very happy with these huge drawers, everything is almost in place now. I’ll sort things out later as I work. Besides this, I didn’t really had much time to do something. I did make some drawings in 3d. I moved from Solidworks and Rhino to Autodesk Fusion360 and never looked back. It’s fantastic! And it’s almost free, I got my 1st year of subscription for free, because I registered as an enthusiast 🙂 I love this software, easy, fun and every month there are new features available. So it’s my second best choice after Sketchup.
Here’s what I’m modelling right now. It’s just a beginning but I’m pretty happy with it!
Art Deco Tables
Well, it’s been a while since my last update on these tables. They’re done now!
The first one is with straw marquetry top, the table itself is made of walnut.

Продаю! Циркулярную пилу Проксон! Купила я ее в 2009 году, вы ее неоднократно видели у меня в постах, я рассказывала о шипорезке для нее, как делался параллельный упор из дуба, и много чего еще. Но теперь пришла пора мне с ней расстаться – хочу разориться на новую пилу, хотя есть еще и новенькая пила от того же Проксона FET, но об этом как-нибудь потом.

Hacked plugin
Never thought it would happen with me! 🙂 One of my plugins was redirecting new visitors to the malware sites. Plugin was actually quite old, updated last week, or maybe earlier, and that’s when it started.
Thanks to my readers who wrote to me about this exploit, and I started my research.
So for those who has WordPress-based website – Pagenavi automatic page numbers plugin is that bad, very bad plugin you should remove from your site or never install it!:) I googled it and found out it was reported about a year ago. I’m shocked I haven’t seen these reports earlier (((
