English Study Room Again
Not really happy with this door, a doorway was cut badly, so I had to cut it in several places, and still it was hard to fit the door.
Lost several nails, ugh, at least, four, and they just disappear, there’s no way to find them 🙂
Anyway, I need to make a decoration for the window and the door, those wires for lights are really annoying, I need to make chandeliers (well, these words are in every post of mine recently, but nothing changed 🙂
Second Floor
I finished the chairs and moved on to my dollhouse, now it’s the second floor, lots and lots of work here. The rooms are dusty and look very sad without lights, I need to make several lamps ASAP 🙂
Dolls house lights
I think that July will be a month of making lights. On one hand, I have a commission, on the other hand I need to make a lot of lights for my dollhouse, and all this in art nouveau-ish style. I did several sketches, and probably will make all of these projects. I started from the easiest one, I used here a brass strip (remember my post about photo etching?). I’m not very good at soldering, my husband was very happy to give me some tips, because the last time I did it, I was about 10 years old trying to fix my ZX Spectrum keyboard (I failed:) and my tape recorder (this time I was lucky). The results now a more satisfactory, but not good enough for me. Anyway, I’ve just started! 🙂 Drilling was easier 😉

I’ve finished with the first floor, and cannot be happier! Good to move on to the upper floor – just three doors, two windows and three ceilings left. Here’s how my living room looks like:
I didn’t make the plinth, because I want to install a fireplace first. The windows are made of mahogany, they don’t open, but in my case it’s all been planned 😉
The ceiling is very simple, nothing fancy, I guess, because of the wallpaper, that takes too much attention.
Under the windows you can see my second version of poppy table, this time, again, it was a commission piece, so I’m thinking of the third version for myself. 🙂
Some goodies arrived this morning for my handmade lights, hopefully I’ll try to make them (at least, start) this weekend. If I’m lucky with it, I can also start working on the exterior.

It’s sooo good to be back to work on my dollhouse! I’ve finished the main door today:
I didn’t make a door knob for the inner side of the door just yet, it will be there soon, I promise 🙂
Entrance door – not done yet
Well, it’s not completely ready, I need to carve the back sides of the panels and add some more details. But, so far so good, I like this door. On the left is a photo of the doors that inspired me to try this design. The door handle is supposed to be quite simple here, but there’s no place for mail slot, though I’ve seen some very original solutions for such doors.
I really like the color of the cherry wood:
Ornaments
The last weekend I tried to focus more on miniatures stuff than upcoming elections, it was such a relief to unfollow some people on Twitter and Google+, got really tired of the politics. I decided to change the way I work on my dollhouse, I was working on only one room before moving to another, which I found not really good idea. In the end, I do it just for fun, right? Besides, I’ve found some really good ornaments for the wallpapers, it was just the right time to try them.
For the living room I chose this great Chinese ornament, so now the room is all about flowers – parquetry, walls, sofa.

Stairs, take two
My second attempt to build the stairs for a hall. I didn’t really like my first version – the central post was a bit off, didn’t like wood color, etc. That’s why I decided to give it another try.
