Proxxon planer review
This planer was, I think, the last item on my wish-list. It always seemed a bit expensive to me, besides I used to buy pre-cut veneer, so there was no need to buy it back then.
A bit later I bought a second band saw for cutting lumber, made my first sand planer (Cap. Obvious tip – I used wood lathe to make it). The only thing I didn’t like in it – was the amount of dust, you always have to keep your vacuum next to it turned on, and it wasn’t really useful when you needed to plane thick board. So, several months ago, I finally decided to try this mini planer from Proxxon.
Christmas lights
Christmas is near, so I started making minis especially for this wonderful time of year. This year was all about my art nouveau house so I thought it would be nice to have a Christmas tree there. With lights 🙂
I went through some internet shops and to be honest was a bit disappointed – those light looked bulky to me. So here’s a possible solution – SMD LED lights. Read more…
Site of the week
Some interesing link for the weekend.
Natalia Frank started a very interesting series of tutorials, must read for those who are interested in miniature needlework – http://scarletsailsminiatures.blogspot.ru/
http://www.caprai.it/catalogo/index.html#/1/ – A very nice book/catalogue about a history of Italian Lace, it was published due to the exhibition of lace in Moscow.
http://modernminiatures-whitledge-burgess.blogspot.ru/ – one of my all time favourite blogs.
New Scrollsaw
Several weeks ago I bought a new scrollsaw, a little bit bigger than the one I have.
Study Room Again
Not really happy with this door, a doorway was cut badly, so I had to cut it in several places, and still it was hard to fit the door.
Lost several nails, ugh, at least, four, and they just disappear, there’s no way to find them 🙂
Anyway, I need to make a decoration for the window and the door, those wires for lights are really annoying, I need to make chandeliers (well, these words are in every post of mine recently, but nothing changed 🙂
Yay!
I don’t even know where to start, yesterday my husband brought the new issue of Miniaturas Magazine, and look who’s there! 🙂 Me! 🙂
This is the process of making Dickens’ desk I made some time ago.
Turning pages and here’s another one! Small article about me and some photos of my furniture and art nouveau roombox.
Still cannot believe my eyes, very happy and humbled. Thank you, Madelva and thank you all for reading my blog! 🙂 Good weekend to you, guys!
Second Floor
I finished the chairs and moved on to my dollhouse, now it’s the second floor, lots and lots of work here. The rooms are dusty and look very sad without lights, I need to make several lamps ASAP 🙂
Tea o’clock
I can’t stop playing with all those minis I bought recently:
Just For Fun
Cushions – done, now I need to cut those brass tubes and make some sort of stoppers for them.
This week I received a package from UK miniature store, with lots, no, I mean, LOTS of minis, I’m feeling like a small kid, happy and excited.
Wood carving tools sharpening
I’m in the middle of uphoslering the chairs, looking good so far. But today is all about sharpening tools.
The biggest fan of sharpening is my husband, but I still have to do that quite often, every other week usually.
